Programs
CLASSROOMS
Children are placed in small groups primarily by developmental age to provide individual attention. Each child develops academically, physically and socially with other children, at his or her own rate of development. Our approach to teaching is an overall approach. Children are given opportunities to learn from a wide range of "hands on" experiences, utilizing a variety of methods and material.
STAFF
Supportive teachers and assistants who are knowledgeable in the area of child development and who posses years of experience staff the program. Teachers facilitate learning as children play in the classrooms and outdoors. Daily activities vary with each age group but generally include art, science, math and reading readiness activities, block play, stories, sand and water play, small and large motor activities and music and movement.
Although children go through developmental stages in the same sequence, each child progresses at his/her own rate. Teachers work with children as a group AND as individuals and encourage children to:
- Develop positive attitudes about themselves and others
- Think, question, reason, and experiment
- Foster creative expression and appreciation for the arts
- Interact with peers and adults in positive ways
- Solve problems
- Make appropriate choices
- Develop large and small muscle coordination
